SAMesg analyses the Electronic Service Guide (ESG) of ATSC M/H multiplexes in all details.

It supports all relevant standards:

• IPDC / CBMS - incl. raw, gzip and BiM encoding
• OMA BCAST - incl. raw and gzip encoding (BiM encoding is not permitted in BCAST)

SAMesg is interworking with following atscSAM components:

• SAMager Agent - for automated monitoring purposes
• SAMcorder

SAMesg processes ESG data either coming directly from an ESG server (e.g. via UDP multicast) or coming de-multiplexed directly out of a ATSC M/H multiplex. In atscSAM, SAMcorder performs de-multiplexing and feeding SAMesg with the relevant data extracted from the particular multiplex.

SAMesg provides comprehensive features for in-depth analysis of the Electronic Service Guide (ESG) within ATSC M/H multiplexes. Furthermore it extracts the content of the ESGs (XMLs, SDPs, images, schedules...) for further processing in other applications.
