SAMbuddy is acting as interface for attaching arbitrary 3^rd party extensions to the monitoring solution.

One leg of SAMbuddy is communicating with the dvbSAM monitoring components (SAMcorder, SAMbera, SAMesg and SAMager Agent) running right on the monitoring probe, the other leg is communicating with various 3rd party solutions which can extend the capabilities of the SNMP monitoring solution according to any customer specific requirements.

So customer specific solutions can be attached efficiently, which e.g. can perform specific actions automatically (e.g. restart of a network component causing a problem) if certain monitoring parameters get out of the allowed range.

SAMbuddy very efficiently attaches arbitrary 3^rd party extensions to the SAM-MT 400, thereby not sacrificing the stability and robustness of the base monitoring system.
