In general SAMbuddy is acting as interface for attaching arbitrary 3^rd party extensions to the atscSAM monitoring solution.

In this particular use case SAMbuddy connects a Conditional Access System (CAS) via a secure, certificate protected interface to the atscSAM monitoring solution, which in turn enables the monitoring solution to lively descramble all scrambled ATSC-M/H services in real-time and perform monitoring for each aspect of these scrambled services like it does for not scrambled services.

Of course, also visual confidence monitoring within a mosaic wall becomes available so that the operator gets the complete monitoring results also on scrambled multiplexes.

SAMbuddy very efficiently attaches arbitrary 3^rd party extensions to the SAM-MT 450, thereby not sacrificing the stability and robustness of the base monitoring system.
