SAMalyzer gets used for in-depth analysis of recorded ATSC and ATSC-M/H multiplex files, with focus on ATSC-M/H.

SAMalyzer is an easy to use tool which provides comprehensive analysis features, to be used with recorded ATSC and ATSC-M/H multiplex files.

Features
  • detailed ATSC and ATSC-M/H compliant analysis of ATSC and ATSC-M/H transport streams
  • analysis of all ATSC PSI/SI tables up to the last bit:
PAT, CAT, PMT, MGT, TVCT, CVCT, RRT, EIT, ETT, CETT, STT, DCCT, DCCSCT and the OM packet
  • analysis of all ATSC M/H SI tables separately of each M/H ensemble and M/H parade up to the last bit: SMT, SLT, GAT, CIT, RRT
  • analysis of all ATSC M/H signalling information of each M/H slot up to the last bit: TPC and FIC
  • access to and analysis of each particular IP packet extracted from the ATSC-M/H portions, considering their sequence of occurrence
  • support of all ATSC-M/H coding variations, i.e. all Frame Modes, all RS Code Modes, all Block Modes, all SCCC Code Modes in any allowed combination
  • support of mixed ATSC and ATSC-M/H transport streams
  • treeview of all PIDs in transport stream
  • channel allocation at one glance - graphical representation of all PIDs and distribution of them
  • timing analysis of M/H slots
  • CRC check of PSI/SI tables

With SAMalyzer an in-depth analysis of ATSC-M/H transport streams can be performed. It simplifies analysis of problems and errors within recorded ATSC and ATSC-MH transport stream files significantly.

In-depth ATSC and ATSC-M/H Analysis
SAMalyzer - Analyze ATSC-M/H Transport Streams in all details
SAMalyzer lets you step conveniently M/H slot-wise through the ATSC-M/H transport stream, thereby providing access to the SI tables of each M/H parade/ensemble, to the signalling information of each M/H slot (TPC and FIC) as well as to every particular IP packet restored from the M/H PID, categorized by its destination IP address and occurrence counter. Each particular IP packet can be separately accessed and analyzed.

Detail Analysis of all signalling information, SI tables and IP packets
SAMalyzer provides comprehensive analysis features for ATSC-M/H signalling information, ATSC and ATSC-M/H SI tables as well as to all IP packets within the M/H portions of an ATSC TS. All these information parts can be analyzed in detail. If applicable then a human readible explanation of the particular value gets displayed.

All analysis windows contain a bi-directional synchronized data grid, wherein the hex data of the currently analyzed data part gets displayed. Selecting a value here automatically selects the appropriate field in the tree above and vice versa.

Channel Allocation
SAMalyzer provides a window which shows the current channel allocation and the time related distribution of the PIDs in order to see at a glance how the data slices are organized in the multiplex. The considered evaluation time can freely be adjusted.

Channel Allocation
Channel allocation window at a resolution of 1 TS packet per horizontal pixel (period: 0,05 seconds)

Channel Allocation
Channel allocation window at a resolution of approx. 1000 TS packets per horizontal pixel (period: 50 seconds)

General Considerations
SAMalyzer provides an exact timing based analysis and thus allows an exact navigation through recorded transport streams. These streams are not limited in size, i.e. despite running on a Win32 platform the transport streams may exceed the "magic" size of 4 GB.

Beside ATSC-M/H SAMalyzer also allows to analyze the PSI/SI tables of legacy ATSC transport streams.

SAMalyzer runs on a standard PC or laptop hardware on Windows XP or later. No additional hardware devices are required.

SAMalyzer's use spans the entire range from design time of the development phase until the monitoring of the commercial product in the field.
